Mgr. Vladimír Šagát, PhD.
research assistant professor

My research focuses on biogeography and geoecology. I am dedicated to the identification, evaluation, and modeling of land cover changes, dendrochronological and dendroclimatological research, as well as the inventory of woody plants and habitats. I am most intensely interested in the dynamics of developmental cycles in mountain spruce forests, with an emphasis on natural disturbances (wind and bark beetle calamities) that occur in them. I teach subjects such as Remote Sensing Data Interpretation 1 and 2, Geoecology Exercises, and Fundamentals of Statistics for Geographers.
